DESCRIPTION

We have completed the structural steelwork and pre-cast concrete unit installation for a 2276 spectator stand comprising upper and lower terraces with an intermediate walkway.

The rear of the stand is supported on an exposed 914x305x238UB/191x229x34T column raking at 15 degrees with an apposing CHS prop to the terrace beam.

Our design, detail and weld arrangement of connections and curved tapers to the rear column were critical for aesthetic and functional specifications.

A clear open space is provided to the undercroft of the upper terrace with curved steelwork supporting a curved soffit. The tied cantilevered roof canopy adopts a large radius curve along its length and a curved fascia finishes the front and sides.

The appreciable need to maintain the architectural concept and structural performance demanded a high standard of workmanship through all stages of this project and particularly during fabrication and erection.

Steelwork Weight: 315 Tonnes
Erection time: 8 weeks including concrete stair and terrace units
Contract Value: £370,000.00 approximately
